Different between Richter and decible scale ?

This is why we use the decibel scale - much like the Richter scale for measuring earthquakes, the decibel scale is logarithmic. ... An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale is 10 times more powerful as one measuring 5.0, and 1/10th as powerful as one measuring 7.0.

If we measure earthquakes from 0 to 10 (more or less) using the Richter scale, with each singular increase by 1 being 10 times more powerful (ie an earthquake that rates a 5 on the richter scale is 10 times more intense than an earthquake that rates a 4) then why is sound measured from 0 to 140, with each increase of 10 being also 10 times more powerful in units of decibels? (ie 80 decibels is 10 times more intense than 70 decibels. oddly enough, to our human hearing, an increase by factor of 10 in intensity only sounds about twice as loud). These are both logarithmic scale....
