a) when rheo leaves are boiled in water, the cell wall and plasma membrane is broken, due to which all the organelles die. since the cell is dead, diffusion, osmosis or any other kind of transport is not possible.
b) as I said, when the plasma membrane is broken down, transport of food and water via diffusion and osmosis cannot be possible, because the plasma membrane is no longer in control of the nucleus, and cannot engulf food by the process of endocytosis. hence, due to the lack of nutrition, all organelles die.
c)when dry apricots are put into pure water, after sometime they bulge, because the concentration of water inside the dry apricot is lesser than the concentration of water outside the apricot, forming a hypotonic solution. because of this, endosmosis takes place, and water from the region of higher concentration flows to a region of lower concentration, ie. from the surrounding medium into the dry apricot, making it bulge.
hope this helped
