different between, stratified, smooth, and cardiac muscle
Answers
Striated muscles:
- Striated muscles are highly organized tissues and they converted the chemical energy into physical work.
- This generates force and support internal activities taking place in the body.
Smooth muscles:
- The muscles which apply pressure to vessels and organs is called as smooth muscles.
- They are composed of smooth cells.
Cardiac muscles:
- Cardiac muscles are also called myocardium or heart muscles.
- It constitutes the main tissues of the walls of the heart.
Answer:
a) Striated muscle - These muscle fibers occur in bundles and normally attached to the skeleton. The cytoplasm of each fiber has a large number of myofibrils which are tightly packed. Each myofibrils shows dark and light band of strips. Mainly found in limbs, body walls and tongue and are voluntary in nature.
b) Smooth muscle - These muscle fibers taper at both ends and do not show striation. It is controlled by autonomic nervous system and are involuntary in nature. Mainly found in the wall of internal organs.
c) Cardiac muscles - The cardiac muscles are found in the wall of the heart. These fibers show characteristics of both unstriped and striped muscle fibers. They are uninucleate and each fiber is a long and cylindrical structure which lacks a definite sarcolemma.
