Different patches used for monopole antenna

patch is wider than monopole antenna. Due to the increased width (thus area) we can achieve good radiation efficiency. Also we have good scope to select appropriate feed position on larger patch area in order to achieve desired input impedance, radiation parameters etc. Example, as area patch area is increased we can cut slots on it to control polarization characteristics.
