Hi,

Here is the answer.........

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are four different types of earthquakes: Tectonic, volcanic, collapse and explosion.

1)A tectonic earthquake is one that occurs when the earth's crust breaks due to geological forces on rocks and adjoining plates that cause physical and chemical changes.

2)A volcanic earthquake is any earthquake that results from tectonic forces which occur in conjunction with volcanic activity.

3)A collapse earthquake are small earthquakes in underground caverns and mines that are caused by seismic waves produced from the explosion of rock on the surface.

4)An explosion earthquake is an earthquake that is the result of the detonation of a nuclear and/or chemical device.

Types of earthquake:

  1. Tectonic Earthquake: The earthquake that is experienced when there is a tectonic activity like converging or diverging of continental or oceanic plates is known as 'tectonic earthquake'.
  2. Volcanic Earthquake: When there is an eruption of a volcano, tremors are felt in the surrounding region. These tremors are referred to as a volcanic earthquake.
  3. Collapse Earthquake: When a rock beneath the surface of the Earth collapses due to pressure, tremors are felt over the surface. This type of earthquake is called a collapse earthquake.
  4. Explosion Earthquake: These earthquakes occur mainly due to human activities of detonation and blasts carried out for various purposes.
