◆ Eye defects (Refractive errors) -

  • Refractive errors means there is defect in focusing incident light rays on retina.

Common refractive errors are

(1) Hypermetropia (far sightedness) -

  • corrected by convex lens

(2) Myopia (short sightedness) -

  • corrected by concave lens

(3) Astigmatism (multiple meridians) -

  • corrected by cylindrical lens

(4) Presbyopia (old age hypermetropia) -

  • corrected by bifocal lens
