1) Local time refers to the time followed by a specific area/location (like a city etc.)whereas standard time refers to the time followed by an entire country.

Local time is the time followed by the people of one particular place and standard time is the particular time followed by one entire country.Every country has its own Standard time.
Equator is a 0° latitude which divides Earth into two equal hemispheres and prime meridian is 180°longitude which passes through Greenwich.So it is also called as Greenwich meredian.
