The difference between the open and closed type of vascular bundle is given below -

Open Vascular Bundle

i. This is the vascular system in which cambium is found between xylem and phloem.

ii. These bundles has the capacity to produce the secondary elements of xylem as well as phloem.

iii. Such bundles are found in the dicot stems.

Closed Vascular Bundle

i. In this bundle, there is no cambium found between those two elements called xylem and phloem.

ii. These bundles cannot produce secondary tissues of xylem as well as phloem.

iii. Such bundles are found in monocot roots and stems.

Here is the difference between the endarch and exarch type of vascular bundle -

Endarch

In this arrangement, the protoxylem is located towards the pith and the metaxylem is located towards the periphery.

Exarch

In this arrangement, the protoxylem is located towards the periphery and metaxylem is located towarda the pith.
