\huge\mathfrak{Laboratory Thermometer}

✴It is used to measure temperature in the laboratory.

It consists of a very fine capillary tube protected by a thick glass tube called the stem of the thermometer.

✴One end of the capillary tube is expanded into a glass bulb containing mercury.

✴The stem has markings called graduations or degrees from -10°C to 110°C.

✴When the bulb of the thermometer is dipped in hot water , the mercury expands and rises in the capillary tube.

✴When the bulb is dipped in cold water, the mercury contracts and falls down.

\huge\mathfrak{Clinical  Thermometer}

✴It is used for measuring a person's body temperature.

✴The temperature range that is marked on a clinical thermometer is 35°C to 42°C.

✴It has a bend or kink in the capillary tube just above the glass bulb.

✴The normal temperature of a human body is 37°C . If the reading is above this temperature, it denotes fever.
