Temperature is the measure of the average kinetic energy of atoms and molecules of a system. It is the property of a body or system. It can be expressed in different scales i.e. Celsius (denoted °C; formerly called centigrade), Fahrenheit (denoted °F), and Kelvin (denoted K).
When temperature measured on the kelvin scale, it is called absolute temperature. 0 K is called absolute zero temperature because at that temperature no particle would have any kinetic energy.
Absolute temperature is the lowest temperature at which the system is at its lowest possible energy. Kelvin and Rankine's scales are used to measure the absolute temperature.
