A colloidal solution in which both the dispersed phase and dispersion medium are liquids is called an Emulsion. Gels is that kind of colloid in which the dispersed phase is a liquid and the dispersion medium is a solid. So the main difference between an Emulsion and a Gel is the depression medium.
