#Powers and responsibility of an IAS officer

1)An IAS officer is generally entrusted with the maintenance of law and order problems.

2)At the entry-level, the officers are mainly allotted their respective cadres that are Sub Divisional level. The tasks are mainly related to the general assessment of law and order problem.

3)Then comes the experienced category, District Magistrates, who are entrusted as the head of a district and are responsible for the overall district.

4)The most experienced officers are made Principal Secretaries. They are attached to the ministry and are assigned mainly on deputation basis. Some of the officers are made Chief Secretaries of the state who are accountable to the Chief Minister of the concerned states.

3)A Civil Servant or a PCS officer is responsible for fortifying administrative stability in a particular state by ensuring in various administration-level works of that state.

5)The officer is also responsible for verifying all the other works, which are directly or indirectly contributing to the state growth.

5)The PCS officers of a particular cadre accomplish the significant administrative functions at the different levels of several departments of the state.
