Ovum

1. It is the female gamete also called egg.

2. It is the primary form of female gamete.

3. It is present in all females but in immature form.

Zygote

1. The fussion of male and female gamete is called zygote.

2. It is secondary form of female gametes(only after fertilization).

3. It is present in female only after fertilization of egg.

An ovum refers to a haploid sex cell.
A zygote is a diploid cell that results from the fertilisation between an egg and a sperm.
