Degradable bags are commonly mistaken for biodegradable bags. But unlike biodegradablebags, they do not break down into water, carbon dioxide and biomass. A degradablebag is still a petroleum-based plastic bag that break down into smaller pieces
The basic difference between biodegradable and non-biodegradableis that biodegradable items decompose or break down naturally.Non-biodegradable items don't. ... Large volumes of non-biodegradablewaste take up excess waste and are potentially damaging to the environment.

Here is your answer-

The basic difference between biodegradable and nonbiodegradable substances are as follows:-

1) Biodegradable items decompose or break down naturally. Non-biodegradable items don't.

2) • Examples of biodegradable wastes are food leftovers, grass clippings, garden wastes, paper, cardboard, spent coffee grounds, egg-shells, feces, toenails, hair.

• Examples are glass, plastics (such as bags, bottles, packaging, polyester clothing), metals (such as aluminium cans), old electronics, batteries, paint.

3) • Biodegradable waste can be processed by aerobic or anaerobic composting.

•These types of wastes cannot be processed via natural processes and need to be reused or recycled.
