What is the difference between vectorand bitmap images. A vector imageuses geometrical formulas to represent images. The other way of representing graphical images is through bit-maps in which the image is made up of a pattern of dots (note that bit-maps are often referred to as raster graphics).

Difference between bitmap images and vector drawn objects:

A bitmap draws an image by placing small dots to form a picture. These tiny dots are termed as “pixels”. The unit of pixel is “px”. You might of heard the terminology 42 mega pixel camera where you might have come across the word pixel.

A vector image does not use any dots rather use geometric shapes such as lines, curves, etc to draw the picture. This is commonly used for creating “logos, print layouts, etc”.
