First of all, bud is the complex, unique, specialized structure which helps in vegetative propagation in organisms.

In Hydra, bud formation starts within the budding zone which then grows in diameter, elongates and separates afterwards to start it's own independent organism. Also, the number of buds in hydra are less compare to number of buds in bryophyllum.

In Bryophyllum, bud grows on the leaf and then falls onto ground to start an independent organism life.

And lastly, hydra buds are always active, while bryophillum buds are dormant until they come in contact with ground/soil.

bud of hydra is reproduced through budding where as bud of bryoPhylum is produced through vegetative propagation.
