The differentiation among the structures named coleoptile and coleorrhiza is -
1. Coleoptile has the function of covering or protecting the shoot that is emerged. Whereas coleorrhiza has the role of connecting the coleoptile to root that is of primary type and also has the function to protect the radicle which later on will transform into root.
2. Coleoptile is pointed structure but coleorrhiza has the structure of sheath type.

Both the sturctures can be found in the monocot type of plants.
