Hey mate here is your answer

Hypocotyl:- The hypocotyl (short for "hypocotyledonous stem", meaning "below seed leaf") is the stem of a germinating seedling, found below the cotyledons (seed leaves) and above the radicle (root).

Epicotly:- In plant physiology, the epicotyl is the embryonic shoot above the cotyledons. In most plants the epicotyl will eventually develop into the leaves of the plant. In dicots, the hypocotyl is what appears to be the base stem under the spent withered cotyledons, and the shoot just above that is the epicotyl.

Hope this answer will help you!!

Given below is the differentiation between hypocotyl and the epicotyl :

1. Location of hypocotyl is in between the structures named radicle and node of cotyledons. But the location of epicotyl is in between the node of cotyledon and the plumule.

2. The reason behind the elongation of hypocotyl is to take out the cotyledon from the soil. Whereas the reason behind the elongation of epicotyl is to keep the cotyledons inside of the soil.
