Self pollination:

  • It is the migration of pollengrains fron anther to stigma of same flower.
  • Both anther and stigna mature at same time.
  • It occurs in closed flower.
  • It gives rise pure line.

Cross pollination:

  • It is the migration of pollengrain from anther to stigma of another flower of another plant.
  • The anther and stigma mature at different time.
  • It occurs only when flower is open.
  • It gives rises offspringes having variation.
