DISPLACEMENT
(1) In this type of reaction a more reactive metal displaces the less reactive metal.
(2) It is a slow reaction.
(3) Precipitate isn’t formed.
Eg. CuSO4 + Fe = FeSO4 + Cu
DOUBLE DISPLACEMENT
(1) It involves the exchange of ions.
(2) It is an instant reaction.
(3) Precipitate is formed.
Eg. BaCl2 + Na2SO4 = BaSO4 + 2NaCl
Eg. BaCl2 + Na2SO4 = BaSO4 + 2NaCl

displacement reaction means when highly metal displaces least reactive metal from its salt eg. zn+cuso4. znso4 + cu
double displacement means when ions get exchange eg KI + Pb(no3)2 kno3 + pbi2
double displacement means when ions get exchange eg KI + Pb(no3)2 kno3 + pbi2
