• The emissive displays are those devices that convert electrical energy into light. Examples of emissive display devices are Plasma Panel, thin film electroluminescent display and LED (Light Emitting Diodes).

• A non-emissive display is a device that shows information by altering the ambient-light pattern at the observer. Example of non-emissive display device is LCD which stands for liquid crystal display.
