The differences between bark and epidermis are as follows:

Epidermis:

  • Epidermis is a protective tissue formed by one cell layers over various parts of the plant body like leaves, flowers, stem and root.

  • In case of leaves , the epidermis is covered by a layer of waxy substance named Cutin. This layer is called Cuticle.

  • Cells of epidermis are elongated and flattened , without any intercellular space.

Bark:

  • The bark is also a protective layer formed after the death of the cells outside the layers of the Vascular Cambium.

  • It contains more than one layer of cell, hence involves the epidermis, cork, phelloderm, etc.

  • The cell morphology varies according to the layer involved. There is intercellular space between the dead cells in order to allow air exchange.

Hope It Helps.

The differences between Epidermis and Bark are as follows:

EPIDERMIS:

  • Epidermis consists of a group of cells that covers leaves, flowers,      roots and stems.
  • Epidermis are living cells that are found in single layer.
  • Epidermis forms a boundary between the plant and the external world.

BARK:

  • Bark is the dermal tissue formed from the meristem.
  • Bark forms several layers above the epidermis.
  • Woody stems and some other stem structures produce a secondary covering called the secondary meristem or periderm or cork cambium that replaces the epidermis as the protective covering.
