The reaction between alcohols and carboxylic acids to form esters is called esterification. Mainly can be considered as the reaction in whichester is formed is called esterification. when this ester reacts with a base(say NaOH) it forms C2H5OH and sodium salt of carboxylic acid which is called saponification

☺☺hlo mate here is ur answer ☺☺
ESTERIFICATION :
☆ . Esterification is the reaction in which a carboxylic acid combines with an alcohol in the presence of little Conc.sulphuric acid to form an ester. These ester so formed are pleasent smelling .
☆ . The above pic is a reversible reaction.
☆ . This is an example for dehydration reaction .
☆ . This is used to prepare different types of esters.
SAPONIFICATION :
☆ . Saponification is defined as the hydrolysis of an oil under basic conditions leading to the formation of sodium salt of carboxylic acid and glycerol.
☆ . The above pic is in irrevesible reaction .
☆ . This reaction is an example for hydrolysis.
☆ . It is used to prepare soap from long chain ester or glycerol .
