Differentiate between human teacher and mechanical teacher

Human teacher is a human being who is skilled and expert in the art and science of teaching children.

Mechanical teacher is a computer programmed to teach children of particular age level.

Advantage and Disadvantage of Human Teacher

Brad Henry, an American politician has rightly said, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” A great human teacher can do miracles, which no one else can do. Who does not know Miss Sullivan, Helen Keller’s great teacher who transformed the latter’s life. The day she arrived at Helen's house, Helen called that day the most important day of her life. Helen compared the arrival of her teacher to the shining of 'light of love' in her darkened life. Miss Sullivan took unprecedented pains to teach Helen manual alphabet. Since Helen was suffering from hearing as well as visual disabilities, Miss Sullivan really had to work very hard to teach Helen the alphabet.

 Advantages:

The advantages of a human teacher are many. As sated above, only a human teacher can transform students’ life. A human teacher has the brain as well as the heart that can work many times faster than the processors of a machine. He has the values such as compassion, understanding, empathy, commitment, dedication, love, and sympathy for his students that no sophisticated machine can ever have.

Disadvantages:

The disadvantages of a human teacher can also be many, such as complacency, low level of knowledge, selfishness, compromising nature, poor character, etc. But these flaws can be mended with proper monitoring and management.

Mechanical Teacher Advantages

A mechanical teacher is capable of teaching at fixed hours with 100% regularity and punctuality without being tired. It can use many teaching aids such as video, audio aids efficiently. It does not do any partiality or dishonesty. It teaches objectively.

Mechanical Teacher Disadvantages

It can’t adapt according to the situation and circumstances. It does not have the emotional aspect to connect to the students. Some technical faults in it  may make it more complex. It can’t improvise and be as creative as a human teacher can be.

In conclusion it can be said there is no substitute for a human teacher.

● When a mechanical teacher teaches, she doesn't do any mistakes which is a good trait. However the students cannot ask questions when any doubts arises. When it's human teacher, she can commit mistakes which is okay because she can impart the knowledge of learning to do better after the mistakes and yes, any doubts can be cleared by a human teacher.

● A human teacher can teach better learning through verbal expression while the mechanical teacher can't do that.

● There's no need of attending school when if we are taught by  the mechanical teacher whereas vital activity of making friends and relations with the realistic human teacher will get lost, though, studying from home is much easier.

● Human teachers have feelings like the students and are capable of sharing experiences with the students whereas mechanical teachers cannot do that.
