Many common diseases are spread through vectors, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, and pathogens. However, non-infectious or non-communicable diseases are not able to be spread from one person to another. ... Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and stroke are brain diseases that cannot be spread from one person to another.

There's a simple difference between infectious & non-infectious diseases.
The diseases that can be spread from one person to another either via contaminated things or via vectors or any other factors like blood transfusion & sexual contact, etc as in case of AIDS are called as infectious diseases like as Coman cold, typhoid, AIDS,etc.
The diseases that don't spread from one person to another are called as non-infectious diseases like as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, etc.
