Short-term immigration flows are based on journeys, not people, and have methodological differences from LTIM flows. In addition, it is possible for someone to be both a long-term and short-term migrant in the sameperiod, and STIM estimates are based on actual flows whereas LTIM coversmigrants' intentions.
