electromagnet

1) an electromagnet behaves as a magnet when current is passed through it and looses it's magnetism when current is switched off that's mean that electromagnet is a temporary magnet
2) The strength of the magnetic field of an electromagnet can be changed by changing the magnitude of the current
3) The powerful magnetic fields can be produced with the help of electromagnet

Permanent magnet

1) A permanent magnet is not dependent on current for its magnetism
2) The strength of magnetic fields of a permanent magnet cannot be changed
