metal oxides are basic in nature as they give h+ ions in water as in opposite nonmetal oxides are acidic in nature .like MgO is basic and CO2 os acidic..

METALS

▪️They are melleable and ductile.

▪️They are good conductors of heat and electricity.

▪️They are sonorous.

▪️They are lustrous.

▪️They are hard.

▪️They are solid at room temperature.

▪️They have high density.

▪️They hav high melting and boiling point.

Examples :−

Copper, Aluminium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron,etc.

NON−METALS

▪️They are neither melleable nor ductile.

▪️They have low melting and boiling point.

Sulphur, Carbon, Oxygen, Phosphorus,etc.
