the compound is a pure substance, the mixture is an impure substance.
Mixture is a blend of two or more substance , each of which retains its identity. Acompound is a substance made up of two or more elements which are chemically combined.
Examples of compounds include water ( or hydrogen oxide ) H2O
examples of mixture include- Air (oxygen + nitrogen + other gasses)

1. They do not have any formula.
2. They may be homogenous or heterogeneous.
3. They can be separated in to there constituents by simple method
4. They do not have fixed melting or boiling point.
Eg_ mixture of oil nd water

Compounds -
1. They have definite formula
2. They are homogeneous
3. They can not be separated into there constituents by simple method
4. They have fixed melting nd boiling point
Eg_H2O, Nacl
