Both Myopia (short-sightedness) and Hypermetropia (long-sightedness) are common eye conditions that are occur when light does not focus on the retina of the eye. Both conditions are easily corrected using prescription glasses or contact lenses or in mild cases by laser eye surgery. Myopia can be corrected by using concave lens of suitable length where as hypermetropia can be corrected by using convex lens .

MYOPIA :it is a defect of human eye by virtue of which it can see short distance objects but cannot see far objects clearly the two possible causes of its defect are increase in the length of eyeball and decrease in focal length of a lens when the eye is fully relaxed .it can be corrected by using concave lens
HYPERMETROPIA :it is a defect of human eye in which a person is not able to see clearly objects clearly but it is possible to see the far objects the two possible causes of this defect are decreasing length of eyeball and increase in focal length of eyelens it can be corrected by using convex lens ....
