Myopia and Hypermetropia are 2 common defects of visions.

Let's understand them individually ;

1. Myopia :

(1) Definition of Myopia: It's also known as Near-Sightedness. A person cannot see nearby objects, But he can see far away objects. Image is formed in front of retina, Not at Retina.

(2) Causes :

(i) Excessive Curvature of eye lens
(ii) Elongation of eye ball.

(3) Correction : Can be corrected by using a concave lens of suitable power. As it will bring back image to retina.

2. Hypermetropia :

(1) Definition of Hypermetropia : It's also known as Far-Sightedness. A person can see nearby objects, But he cannot see far away objects. Image is formed at back of retina, Not at Retina.

(2) Causes :

(i) Excessive Focal Length of eye.
(ii) Eye ball has become too small.

(3) Correction : Can be corrected by using a convex lens of suitable power. As it will bring back image to retina.
