1.National parties have influence all over the country

2.National parties deal with national problems

3.The activities of the national parties give priority to the national problems over the regional problems

4.In order to become a national party a party has to secure at least six per cent of total votes in lok sabha or assembly elections in four States and win at least four seats in lok sabha

eg. BJP , Congress

Regional parties

1.The influence of regional parties is limited to a particular region or state

2.Regional parties are concerned with the problems and demands of a particular region only

3.The activities of regional parties are restricted to the region or the state in which they function they focussed more on local problems

4.In order to become a regional party ,a party has to secure at least six percent of total votes in the legislation election and win at least two seats
