SAHARA DESERT :
Vegetation -:
The extreme temperatures and lack of water are not suitable for the growth of vegetation. These plants have long roots for reaching the water table and acquiring moisture. The small and spiky leaves control loss of water through transpiration.
LADAKH DESERT :
Vegetation-:
There is a lack of vegetation due to less rainfall and cold climate. A variety of fruits such as apples,walnuts and apricots grow in summer. Mosses and gentians are found at higher altitude.
