Differentiate between shadow and an image.

Answer:

Shadows are formed when opaque objects obstruct the path of light. Image is seen when light comes from the object after reflection or refraction enters the observer's eye. No light enters the eye from the shadow of the object. Image gives more information such as colour, structure, etc. .Shadow is formed when light is obstructed by an opaque object where as Image is the reflection of light rays by an object. shadow does not contain colour but image contains colour.

SHADOW:

(1) Shadow is formed when light does not reach behind the object.
