An electromagnet is simply a piece of metal ( usually an iron nail )through current is passed and emits an electromagnetic field

A Solenoid is an electromagnet in which current is passed through a copper coil

An electromagnet’s magnetic strength can be changed by changing the amount of electricity passed trough it

A solenoid’s magnetic strength can be changed by changing the amount of electricity or by changing the radius of the coil
