in solid the intermolecular force is very high so the particles of the solid are very close to each other and rigid
In liquid the intermolecular force is weaker than the solid so the particles of liquid are not so close to each other it can take the shape of container
But in gases the intermolecular force is very less so it's particles are farther from each other
