Static friction is the friction between the two bodies when they are at rest. Therefore, it is the friction which acts between the two surfaces when there is no relative motion.

Kinetic friction is the friction acting between the two surfaces or bodies when they are in relative motion.

FRICTION DEPENDS ON-

NATURE OF SURFACES IN CONTACT

WEIGHT OF BODY

SHAPE OF BODY

Static friction =The friction applied when a body rest is static friction.

Kinetic friction = The friction applied when a body moving is Kinetic friction .
