A violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning, or snow is v called storm.

Whereas, a system of winds rotating inwards to an area of low barometric pressure, with an anticlockwise (northern hemisphere) or clockwise (southern hemisphere) circulation; a depression is called cyclone.

The only difference between a hurricane, a cyclone, and a typhoon isthe location where the storm occurs. Hurricanes, cyclones, and typhoons are all the same weather phenomenon; we just use different names for thesestorms in different places. In theAtlantic and Northeast Pacific, theterm “hurricane” is used.
