symbiotic means that both the plants are sharing one's nutrients with the other.
while parasites doesn't give anything to their host but take nutrients from their body..
suppose if two plants are there, so they will share all their nutrients with one another but if their is a parasite so he will not do anything for the host..
example is mosquito..
he only sucks our blood but he gives nothing to us...
