Both were kings but the difference in both of them are that Mohammad Ghazni dacoited somnath temple and Muhammad ghori defeated Prithviraj Chauhan 17 times in the battlefield but in them the 16 wars were defeated by Muhammad Ghori and in the last one means 17 th he defeated Prithviraj Chauhan with the Help of king jaimal.

One of the rules of Rajputs were to not fight at night and Muslims took their benifit in that and started killing rajput soldiers at night and that was the cause for defeat of Prithviraj at last battle.
