a) Scales of Reptiles and Fishes

Scales of reptiles: Reptiles lack bony undersupport or any other structural configuration from dermis. It is a fold in surface of epidermis.

Scales of fishes: Fishes scales are in the dermal region, which is underneath the epidermis.

b) Uropygial and Salt glands of birds

Uropygial Glands:

i. It is located at base of tail.

ii. It secretes a lipid and protein product that birds collect on side of their beaks, then smear on their feathers.

Salt glands:

i. It is located on head of some birds and well developed in marine birds.

ii. Salt glands eject excess salt obtained when these birds ingest marine food and sea water.

c) Monogastric and Digastric Stomach

i. DEFINITION

MONOGASTRIC STOMACH: Monogastric stomach is a stomach that comprises of single compartment stomach that aids in digestion process.

DIGASTRIC STOMACH: Digastric Stomach is a stomach that comprises of double compartment that aids in digestion process.

ii. COMPARTMENT/ DIVISION

MONOGASTRIC STOMACH: Single Compartment

DIGASTRIC STOMACH: 2 division: digestive and fermentative

iii. COMPARTMENTS OF STOMACH

MONOGASTRIC STOMACH: None
