Significance of Active transport: It plays an important role in transport of food against the concentration gradient, absorption of minerals from soil, maintaining water and ionic balance.

Significance of Diffusion: It plays important role in the transpiration of water vapours, gaseous exchange during respiration, passive uptake of ions, translocation of food materials, diffusion of volatile aromatic compounds to attract insects.

(i) Xylem and Phloem :-

Xylem is the complex tissue of plants, responsible for transporting water and other nutrients to the plants whereas Phloem is living tissue, responsible for transporting food and other organic materials.

(ii) Yeast and Spirogyra :-

Reproduction in yeast occur by budding. It reproduces using asexual mode of reproduction whereas Spirogyra reproduces by fragmentation of filaments. It can reproduce both Sexually and Asexually.
