Difference between the "premetamorphosis" and "prometamorphosis" stages during 'anuran' metamorphosis:

Metamorphosis is a biological process involving physically developed animal after 'birth' or 'hatching' with certain abrupt changes in animal 'body structure' through 'cell growth' and 'differentiation'. Premetamorphosis stage includes the stage characterized by the 'considerable growth' and development of 'larval' structure but metamorphosis does not occur.

Prometamorphosis is characterized by the continuous growth specially the 'development of limbs' and 'initiation of metamorphic' changes. Example in case of insect’s premetamorphosis results in hemimetaboly stage (incomplete or partial growth) and prometamorphosis results in holometaboly stage (complete growth).
