Xylem-

1. It transports water and minerals.

2. It transports in upward direction.

3. It contains tracheids, parenchyma ,xylem fibres and xylem vessels.

4. It is found deeper in roots.

Phloem-

1. It transports food .

2. It transports food in both upward and downward directions

3. It contains sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem fibres and phloem vessels

4. It is found in leaves.

Phloem :-

1. Transport of food occurs in leaves to other parts of plant.
