Differences between Transpiration and Evaporation:

Explanation:

  • Both transpiration and evaporation is the loss of water but the major difference is that, transpiration occurs in plant cell whereas evaporation occurs in free surface.
  • The water vapor during evaporation initiates from the rivers, lakes, oceans and other open sources but the vapor in transpiration is from the liquid secreted by the plant leaves.
  • During transpiration plants have full control over the loss of water and how much water must be excreted but in the case of evaporation the water vapor depends upon the heat and sunlight.
