Biodegradable can act as soil manures while non ones cannot. The basic difference between biodegradable and non-biodegradable is that biodegradable items decompose or break down naturally. Large volumes of non-biodegradable waste take up excess waste and are potentially damaging to the environment.

Eg;non-biodegradable:Glass, Metals like aluminium, copper, zinc, iron, Electronic devices, computer parts, batteries, Medical waste, Plastic bags, plastic bottles, Tetra packs, Carbon paper, thermo coal.

biodegrable:Human and animal waste.

Plant products, wood, paper, food waste, leaves, grass clippings, natural products.

Remains from the death of living creatures.
