Differentiate cost of living from the standard of living?

. The key difference between cost of living and standard of living is that cost of living is the cost of maintaining a certain level of living in a specific geographical region whereas standard of living is the level of wealth, comfort, material goods and necessities available in a geographical region, typically a country.

Cost of living refers to the cost of maintaining a certain level of living While Standard of living refers to the level of wealth, comfort, material goods and necessities available .
The HDI includes the standard of living also which includes parameters like life expectancy etc..
Norway leads the table in Human Development Index.
