oxide ores cannot be reduced by carbon. why?

Oxides can be reduced by carbon but some highly reactive metals like aluminum cannot be reduced by carbon because it is highly reactive.

This is in incorrect oxides ore are reduced by carbon of metal which is less reactive than carbon like zinc but others metals which are more reactive than carbon their oxides are reduced by aluminium.
