Differentiate how are sound waves and water waves similar

As waves, shared properties include interference, refraction, reflection, diffraction, triggering by beat/scale shock/velocity push, etc. Possibly wavelength dependent, which also includes the shared difference between group and phase velocity due to dispersion law.

As waves, they can be seen as global energy transport, as cyclical conversion between local kinetics and potential energy, etc.

Both are mecanical waves (while waves can be hearted in different physical entities: matter, current, EM field, gravity, etc).

Now, they are not the same modality (one is longitudinal and the other transverse), and not the same category (one is volumetric and the other is evanescent, i.e. trapped in interface).

because both the. waves have ability to have greater velocity in in dense medium ..
