x = amt of 25% to be removed

x = amt of pure antifreeze to be added

.25(16-x) + 1.00x = .40(16)

4 - .25x + 1x = 6.4

-.25x + 1x = 6.4 - 4

.75x = 2.4

x = 2.4/.75

x = 3.2 qts of 25% removed and 3.2 qts of pure antifreeze added
